Bar code labels need to remain clear and readable in order to be properly scanned. As you might already know, some label types perform better in the chemistry of the lab than others. Below we have listed label material types with some of their characteristics and features. The label types play a key role in the printing of bar codes in the lab.

Product 651/T66	For thermal transfer printing, XyResist^�white labels offer excellent print quality. The label will not stick to gloves, and yet it will handle cold temperatures. It is suitable for slide identification because it resists the effects of xylene. Care has to be taken not to touch the ribbon ink while it is wet with Xylene. We recommend the use of the T66 and T67 ribbon.
Product 334/T76	For thermal transfer printing, these labels offer excellent print quality, as well as resistance to Xylene, stain and Xylene substitutes. This stock is a matte white in color and is waterproof, with a solvent and temperature resistant adhesive. We recommend the use of the T76 and T77 resin ribbon for ultimate print quality and durability.
Product 254	For direct thermal printers, this durable white label does not require a transfer ribbon. Ideal for facilities that need to comply with the privacy regulations of HIPAA. (Suitable for incidental contact with chemicals, not prolonged immersion)
Product 717	Our XyRepel^�white label material provides superior resistance to xylene and other chemicals so it is used for Cytopathology, Histology, and other slide applications. It includes a mixture of chemical resistant plastics and adhesives, along with a protective film laminate.
Product 719	Our XyRepel^�transparent clear label material provides superior resistance to xylene and other chemicals so it is used for Cytopathology, Histology, and other slide applications. It includes a mixture of chemical resistant plastics and adhesives, along with a protective film laminate.
Product 721	Our XyRepel^�white label material provides superior resistance to xylene and other chemicals and is suitable for Cytopathology, Histology, and other slide applications. It includes a mixture of chemical resistant plastics and adhesives, along with a protective film laminate. It has a unique surface which can be written on with a ball-point pen before it is folded and laminated in the lab.
