Quick Ship Custom Labels

  1. I need a different size label for my application, are other sizes available?
We can easily produce smaller or larger labels. Our vast tooling library allows us to produce thousands of sizes. Call to discuss sizing options. (Please allow for a 7 workday lead-time)

  2. Our company would like our logo on the labels. Is this possible?
Logos can typically be printed on a label. Our label designer would need to review your artwork in an electronic file format such as .TIFF, .JPEG, .EPS, or native files from Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop or Corel Draw. (to determine usability and print quality) There would be an up-charge depending on the amount of image manipulation or re-design necessary to achieve a usable image.

  3. Does our label have to read "Property of " ?
No, we can print whatever you prefer. With a properly sized bar code there is typically room for two lines of text. Each line may contain up to 25 characters and remain clearly readable.

  4. Are other colors available?
Colors outside our stock four colors are typically available. Please contact us for details.

  5. Do we have to have a bar code?  Right now we are not using a bar code system.
We can leave the barcode off if it is of no use to you. The price for just text and text plus bar code is the same. However most customers still have us print a bar code in case they update to a bar code system in the future.

  6. How would I determine if I need a durable label or a super durable label?
The extra durability achieved with our Super Durable product is due to a clear overlay that is applied after the label is printed. This makes it a great choice for labels that come in contact with harsh chemicals, rough handling, or frequent cleaning. On the other hand, if you are identifying office furniture and you simply want to place a label under a chair or some other "out-of-the-way" place, the durable label is more than adequate.

  7. Can these labels be used outdoors?
The stock labels we offer are best suited for inside applications. We do however offer a product for exterior use that utilizes special materials that provide resistance to UV damage. (rated for 2-5 year outdoor life) Please call or e-mail for details.

  8. As far as numbering the labels, can the data be variable or does it have to be sequential?
The standard stock labels are sequentially numbered and we can begin the sequence with any number you specify. The next time you order we just pick up the numbering where you left off. For a small up-charge we can print unique or variable data from your electronic files such as Excel.

  9. Can alpha characters be used as part of a numbering scheme?
Yes, alpha characters may be encoded into the bar code. It is not uncommon for companies to utilize some alpha characters as a prefix to easily distinguish different facilities or departments.

  10. What is the difference between bar code 39 or code 128?
In most cases it would not matter as most bar code scanners are automatically capable of decoding both types of barcodes. (These are the most popular bar code symbologies) Generally code 128 is used when very long numbers are to be encoded. On our stock label size we could fit 8 characters of data using code 39 and 12 characters of data when code 128 is used.
