UL
Labels
You see UL Marks
EVERYWHERE – on more than 9 billion products every year. From the
first light you turn on in the morning, to the coffee pot that starts your
day, the computer you are staring at right now, the drinking fountain at
break time, or the roof over your head...
For those not familiar with UL - the Underwriters Laboratories
(UL) is a trusted global agency dedicated to assuring product
compliance between manufacturers, retailers and consumers, as well as other
regulatory agencies. There is no certification program more widely accepted
or recognized by regulatory agencies, insurance companies or consumers!
Over the past hundred
years, UL has developed more than 1000 safety standards. Millions of
products are regularly tested to ensure public safety and improve quality.
Unfortunately, the UL
network can be confusing, risky, costly and intimidating.
Electronic Imaging is here to help make your UL Labeling experience
successful.
To Begin: If you
have a new product you want to bring to market and want to learn how to
get it UL Recognized, you will need to contact the Underwriters
Laboratories (UL) at:
http://www.ul.com/services/submittal.html
Next: While you
are waiting for your UL Recognition, don’t forget your labels! Do
you know what you need or want to put on your labels? UL will certainly
provide some guidelines. A UL Recognized label bears safety-related
information such as warnings, cautionary markings, installation instructions
or electrical ratings.
Label quality, design and
performance will be measured by UL with the same high standards as the
product you want to sell because a UL label contains information that must
remain permanently available to the consumer. As a Recognized Supplier
of UL Labeling Components (see UL File #MH27790), Electronic
Imaging provides blank die cut labels and compatible printing ribbons so
that you can print your own UL labels on any thermal transfer
printer. Our materials have been thoroughly pre-tested by UL to meet
performance requirements such as legibility retention, resistance to
defacement and permanent adhesion to a surface. We help you define the
right material for your product and by using pre-tested materials, you save
a great deal of time and money in the final UL product testing steps.
Let EIM make UL Labels be the simple part of your UL Recognition process…
